More machinery than people?
Many people complain that machinery and robots are taking our jobs, and there is certainly some truth to this in the construction industry. The number of workers needed to complete a large development is rather low, especially compared to the teams you would have needed 20 or even 30 years ago. Machinery and construction equipment has come a very long way, but at the end of the day, specialist constriction workers will always be needed to manage the equipment and ensure safety precautions are in place. Heavy machinery at a construction site is controlled and operated by people, so whilst it means fewer labourers are needed, there are still plenty of specialist jobs available, and it’s still a very prosperous industry to break into, so why not embrace machinery and learn about it rather than putting a negative spin on it? It’s best to get on board as we’re likely to see more improvements in the future too!
