Go-ahead for £1.5bn White City scheme

Developers Helical Bar and Aviva Investors have gotten planning permission for his or her Brickfields development, a 1.55 million sq ft residential-led scheme at the former Dairy Crest site at White City in west London.

The 11-acre site can have 1,150 new homes, 210,000 sq ft of offices and approximately 60,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and community facilities around an urban square.

Brickfields forms portion of the White City Opportunity Area, a huge area of land identified as a key strategic location for regeneration by Hammersmith & Fulham Council and the Mayor of London.

Helical Bar development director Matthew Bonning-Snook said, “This is a significant breakthrough in realising the potential for this significantly underutilised brownfield site. The Eric Parry designed masterplan seeks to correctly integrate this scheme with the opposite emerging projects in the White City Opportunity Area, providing a cohesive vision for the regeneration of the world. This also represents the achievement of a key milestone inside the group’s development objectives.”
