Brick Types and Uses for Traditional Conservatories

If you are looking to build a traditional conservatory then it is vitally crucial that you hire a good local builder to create a solid and well-formed base. The local builder should have a number of years of experience behind them and should show you past projects that they have worked on, specifically for your need.

When building the base, the builder should then place one row of brick down on your foundations, normally constructed from concrete and on the brick ledge which should be evenly spaced with a 3/8 or 1/2 of an inch gap between each brick unit.

For colour, generally Terra cotta is usually applied to brick or plaster pre-construction and is one of the more popular brick choices throughout the UK. However, recently for conservatories, large welsh sandstone bricks have been sought to give off a country kitchen and vintage look to a home owners house, whilst still providing many benefits that the traditional method provides.
