Southern expansion for Scottish demolition contractor
The company, which increased turnover by 60% last year to £16m, has taken a collection of offices at Carwood Business Park in Leeds and a south of britain office can also soon be at the cards.
Masterton has recruited 27 people from around the Yorkshire region to function from its new northern base. Masterton has an extra 110 staff working from its headquarters in Grangemouth, Scotland.
Managing director Steve Forster said: “A significant proportion of the contracts we’ve won recently are inside the north of britain, so it made perfect sense to determine an operation in Yorkshire.
“This region of the rustic has an especially strong demolition tradition and we knew we’d be able to find the proper of individuals with the proper skills here. We now have recruited 5 highly experienced contract, site and business development managers, estimators and planning engineers, and one more 22 multi-skilled operatives.
“Our Yorkshire based project teams are already undertaking dismantling work at various sites around the north including Runcorn and Hebburn.”
“At some point fairly soon we’re going to be seeking to open another operation further south too,” added Mr Forster, “because we now have some particularly big projects commencing in London and the southwest.”
Masterton’s current Runcorn project is for a longstanding client, the chemical company Ineos, dismantling a big asbestos-insulated flue duct at its Weston Point power station. This £1.3m project will take 28 weeks to finish.
At Hebburn on South Tyneside Masterton have been awarded a 22-week contract by Siemens to dismantle the previous Trench UK buildings.
